Happy New Year! I offer my new custom Tarot Spread, intended to help you reflect on the outgoing year, 2007 and prepare your resolutions for self nurturence and development in 2008.
What the Spread Reveals
As you can see in the illustration, this spread entails nine cards in total, four for your reflection on the outgoing year's lessons and four to help you plan your resolutions for the incoming New Year. The ninth card is a special Message card that points you in the direction you should take to begin this New Year right!
To begin this spread, shuffle the cards carefully, spread them out in a long line in front of you, then allow your Higher Self to draw the nine cards from the deck. This should be done carefully and with calm focus, while you meditate on your life over the past year as well as your hopes and aspirations for the New Year.
Laying out the cards
Either print out the New Year layout page, or have it open on your computer screen with room in front of your desk or table for the nine cards. As you draw the nine cards, one by one, lay them on the table surface before you, first the four for the outgoing year, then the four for the New Year, finishing with the ninth central card. Begin with the first card in the upper left; the second card to fourth card directly below it - these are the cards for the outgoing year, 2007. Complete the spread by laying the remaining four cards along the right edge, to represent the coming New Year energies, and the ninth card in the center. This spread will help you to both reflect and aspire, drawing in the growth and development that you engaged in through the past year's experiences and the resolutions that you wish to make to guide your own self development in the coming New Year. It is helpful if you let your ego and conscious mind relax, you release any preconcieved ideas about the correct choice, and just allow your Higher Self to speak to you through the cards you draw.
OUTGOING YEAR CARDS
Card One - This card reveals the essential energy of the body or physical lessons you engaged in this past year.
Card Two - This card reveals the essential energy of the mental or intellectual lessons you engaged in this past year.
Card Three - This card reveals the essential energy of the heart or emotional/relational lessons you engaged in this past year.
Card Four - This card reveals the essential energy of the soul or spiritual lessons you engaged in this past year.
INCOMING YEAR CARDS
Card Five - This card reveals the essential energy of the body or physical resolutions you will adopt in this coming year.
Card Six - This card reveals the essential energy of the mental or intellectual resolutions you will adopt in this coming year.
Card Seven - This card reveals the essential energy of the heart or emotional/relational resolutions you will adopt in this coming year.
Card Eight - This card reveals the essential energy of the soul or spiritual lessons resolutions you will adopt in this coming year.
CENTER CARD
Card Nine - This card is a special Card, meant to provide direction in how to begin to achieve your overall goals and aspirations. It holds a special meaning for this coming Year - spend extra time contemplating the meaning of this card in your life.
