Hi there, longtime reader but now really feel the desire to share some thought with all you nice people. A bit about me: 38 yrs, female, am in a long-term stable relationship. We are very happy with each other. I work full time and both I and my boyfriend like to dedicate time to each other, our hobbies and of course also me-time. Zero desire for any rugrats. I have been reading your posts for some months now. I feel like I know you already, of course you cannot say the same about me! smile I live in Europe. You would be surprised how little information, support, etc, there is out there for the CF. Most everything you find on the web comes from the US or the UK. It's really a non-topic here. People have been bingo-ing me in the past, but now that is letting off quite a bit, also because I'm very vocal when they want to know "but whyyyy haven't you got any chilllldren"... and I tell them why! Anyway, nice to be hear, and I look forward to talking to you! smile

Hi Fatina! What part of Europe are you in? I've traveled to the British Isles and Ireland, but never to the Continent...yet! Welcome to the board, you'll find plenty of support here!

Welcome fatina. I am european too and I totally agree that there is very little information for the CF among us over here so I am sure that like me you will find everybody on this forum very friendly and supportive. Are you in mainland Europe or would you rather not say?

I am German, but live in Italy. You would think that Italians are crazy about kids, but things are changing here too. In fact, Italy has one of the lowest birth rates of Europe. Plus the fact that most young adults cannot afford to move out of their own (when single) and once they are married or have a partner cannot afford to start a family. Cost of living is quite high here. The catholic church and the vatican are turning a blind eye to all these dilemmas.

That's a big issue in Austria too...
And it annoys me that much.... *grrrrr*
