Hi,I started working out about two months ago. I do at least 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week, and on 4 days a week I weight train different muscle groups. When I started out, I weighed 124. I am 5 feet 1 inch tall. I feel that I am about 10 pounds too heavy. The extra weight tends to make me look even shorter. But now, even after all the working out, I look slimmer, but weigh 128. Could this be from the weight training? Is this normal? If this continues my bmi will go up to an unhealthy number. How much stock should I put in bmi?

You are probably trimming up from building healthy muscle. Unless you go into some very serious weight training, your body will probably find it's maximum muscle and hold there.

I wouldn't worry about turning into the hulk just by doing what you're doing.

My daughter plays college softball and they work out with weights several days a week, run and do other exercises. She looks compact and healthy. It never made her bulk up.

Hope that helps.
