When I first started out there was only a couple of Beading Magazines and most of them were bi-monthly.

Now the magazines are everywhere and each one wants me my money to run print ads in them.

Until September 30th I'm running a survey to find out what people are reading, fill out the survey and enter your email address for a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate.

Poll / Survey

Thanks

The only bead magazine I subscribe to is Bead and Button. Sometimes I buy BeadWork if it has something I'm interested in.

I've looked at others but the patterns are pretty simple in them and many are just stringing beads for easy jewelry. That's ok but I don't really want to buy a magazine just for that.

I subscribe to and read both "Bead and Button" and "Beadwork", and have begun purchasing "Bead Unique." I am planning to subscribe to that very soon. I don't regularly purchase those magazines that seem to concentrate mostly on stringing, though I do occasionally find some lovely design ideas in some of those I want to try. smile

I subscribe to Bead and Button and Simply Beads. I have seen the Bead Unique and think I may give it a try.

I read Beadwork the most. I will pick up Bead and Button sometimes-especially if someone I know has a pattern or piece in it.

I read almost all of them. I particularly like Bead Style because they have a section in the front that has upcoming jewelry and bead trends. Some magazines that are excellent that you may not know about:

Beads Etc. (an Australian beading magazine) Beautiful photos!
Belle Armoire (a great source of inspiration)
Ornament magazine
Art Jewelry magazine (goes beyond beading into multi-media jewelry making)

I'm addicted to bead and jewelry making magazines. :-)

Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I didn't see an 'introduce yourself' section so I might as well put my 2cw in here.
Right now I'm not reading ANY magazine. I have found myself spending way too much time in stead of working on my own stuff. I may buy a magazine again one day but for now I'd rather spend my $$$ on new materials.

I've been making jewelry for about 8, 9 years now and I am always surprised by how many ideas keep coming to the surface. Just going through all my beads etc. gives me 1000 ideas... Don't need a magazine right now.

Best regards,
Milli

Hi everyone! I am new to this site and have been beading for about 15 years now. I read a lot of magazines and will buy books of more advanced work. I will be learning PMC since I have a kilm now and eventually will learn how to make glass beads also. Any input would be welcome from fellow beaders.

Take Care,

Dirah

I've been buying Bead and Button almost since it first came out. I keep all the old ones for inspiration if I am ready for a new project.

My stuff always looks lots different than what I see in the magazine but the photos start my creative juices flowing.

Dirah, I've never tried to make glass beads. Was the kilm very expensive?
