I found these natural home remedies on Yahoo news today. A couple I have heard of but many I have not. How about you? Have you heard of them? Do you have any home remedies to add of your own?

That is really good information Vance. I have just started to use honey and cinnamon mixtures for several ailments such as upset stomachs and sore throats but this mixture can help with several problems here is the link:

We use honey for coughs; but everyone in the household is well over the age of 1 now. Honey can be a danger to children under a year of age or even to the elderly (if the immune system is compromised). There's always the danger of botulism.

Good point, it does say that in the page Vance referred to.
I have heard of a remedy for bee stings though I have never tried it. Tape a real copper penny to the bite for 15 minutes this supposedly removes all signs of the bite - of course it won't work if someone is allergic. Has anyone ever tried it?

Haven't tried that one. Meat tenderizer (the powdered stuff from McCormick or any other brand) works in a pinch... if you have nothing else handy.

I have read that flaxseed oil may cause a thyroid problem.
I also have understood that flaxseed is supposed to be helpful for people suffering from prostate cancers due to the lignans that are believed to help remove testosterone from the body, they supposedly assist in suppressing the growth of prostate cancer cells especially in the early stages. Sue Early Childhood, do you have a link for information stating that this info may be incorrect?

I found this information at MayoClinic.com. The link is below. As I said the jury isn't really in on this one, but if you think about it, too much of anything these days can cause some kind of health problem.

Nature's Inventory Wellness oils offers some safe, natural remedies for babies and children. I've tried the ones for teething and tummy troubles and they work great.

They are gentle essential oils made esp for babies and then there is a broader selection for older kids.
