I don't even know 500 people... Maybe I was lame when I was a teenager. I'm glad they actually did something to the kid. I'm sure he'll get off with a slap of the wrist though.

This is a pretty common problem in the city I lived in in New Zealand - the so called "North Shore party". It would start with a small group of kids, but they tell their friends, who text their friends, and then they text their friends, and some random people gatecrash and they text their friends ... for a while it was a Saturday night ritual that the cops in riot gear would be called in to break up parties of 300+ drunk, underage, bottle throwing brats.

Ugh. Talk about great uses for tear gas.

I never went to a single party when I was a teen. And I don't care. I don't find that kind of thing fun. Standing around drinking and listening to bad music. Whoo hoo.

That kid is seriously an idiot. He's been charged by the police with child pornography as well - apparently he recorded footage on his phone of 16 year old scantily clad girls playing twister.

I agree with the guy who said it shows where our prioitys are there are millions of teens everywhere having parties like that one and they dont get the glamous of interview and such. I think the best punishment would be make him pay for all the damage, and put the parents of the creden in parenting classes I mean what where they thinking? they left him alone (well I could see that one to a point) then they let in do interveiw to make him famous? HELLO what are they really proud of there son or what? My mom would still be beating my A$$ and I would have had to pay all the damages no allowence at all extra work at home no extra school stuff and I would have had to get a job and that is only if I was still allowed to live at her house!!!!
She may have sued the Judge if he didnt put me in jail for it! no joke! she would have been that mad at me and she would have done it too!

That's exactly what might happen freebubbles...the Police Commissioner Christine Nixon is considering sending his parents a bill for $20,000 to cover the cost of the Police response.
The 500 people that turned up were responding to a general invitation issued by the 16 year old in MySpace...
His response was - "he couldn't remember a thing - he was right out of it - pretty hammered"...(smirk and laugh)
I'm sure the police footage will refresh his memory.
His parents have returned from their holiday - what a welcome home...

Confession: I was a really idiotic teen and threw a party like this. I didn't quite realize how bad it would be, but it turned out very bad. I was reaaaallly lucky I didn't end up arrested. At one point it came very close to that, and the police dented the front door banging on it with big flashlights. I was very very bad. Just put the word out at school and it spread like crazy.

My mom went to Hawaii for 9 days for a Honeymoon. My brother was in college, and my dad lived a couple miles away. They must have let me choose to stay home alone instead of with my dad. I've always liked being alone, but I don't remember why I was there exactly. I probably should have been with my dad. So, I was alone and invited friends over a lot, which was okay, but a party like that was definitely not okay.

I'm omitting these details because it just adds to the wrongess of my actions.

I readily admit, my brain was not fully formed and I made terrible decisions.
It turned out okay miraculously and I was able to get the house cleaned up so well that my mom didn't even know!!! It included getting a broken window replaced. In fact, my dad came over to visit me a couple days later and walked right by the broken window and didn't notice it (he's pretty obtuse). I even took pictures of her china cabinets so I could put everything away and put it back right afterwards. The neighbors did tell my mom, but she just had no concept.

Well, I do regret being so irresponsible, and if I could go back I would never treat my mom's house like that again.

Now I feel like deleting this...even talking about it now feels wrong. I did it for attention, so turning it into a legend of my own creation and ever talking about it is bad. (I deleted the embarrassing parts, you can imagine).
