Hi!

I had a talk with a co-worker last week, that I have to share with you!

First of all I have to tell you, that she always had problems with the doubts I have about having kids.
She is a real loving mother, and I thought that she loves her life. She scrificed many things for her children - that's what a mother has to do - she always says.

But - to come to the point: She asked me how we spent the holidays without sweet little children ...

Well... that was the point were I had to tell her how cool it was just to make a spontanous trip to Tirol... wink

Wow, you must have seen her face as I told her that we went out every night and how wonderful it was...

Then she said....You have to enjoy this freedom, because with children you won't be able to do that...

confused eh??? I don't really understand her, because she always wants to convince me to get pregnant as soon as possible...

And.... Why are so many people interested in my life and my decisions, although they don't really know me?
I would never ever ask somebody such an intimate question like...Why are you having kids, don't you miss anything in your life since your children were born? ...
Are they just jealous? Or just thinking: A problem shared is a problem halved??

Ok...I will stop ranting now cool

Thanks for listening...

Hi Juliana, and welcome.

Not being able to speculate about the parent populace any more than they can speculate about the CF, it's hard to say why they question CF people. We've discussed it a lot in here, and the reasons vary: some are simply curious and don't view their questions as any kind of intrusion; some are jealous; some, like many who have discovered these kinds of web sites, never realized there is a choice...the reasons are many.

Something I figured out the other day, though, is that if a person is either jealous or insecure, they'll continue to question or push you so as to try to unseat you or make you feel uncomfortable. I spent the day with a rep (she's 27 with 3 kids) last week who asked if I had kids. I replied with a simple, "Nope, just never felt the need to have them," and she left it at that. It's the people who keep beating you about the head with questions who take issue with your choice, and while some days it's annoying, some days it's kinda fun to analyze them or speculate on why they're so inquisitive.
