Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find CF friends? Almost all of our friends now have kids or plan to in the near future. It gets so frustrating because any time we get together with friends, they always have their kids along and we can barely talk. They spend the entire time feeding or correcting their kids. I love my friends kids, but I want friends who have more interests than mommyhood.

I'd suggest googling 'childfree <city>'. If you live in a populated enough area you should see organizations that are made up of childfree couples in the same situation. We might be moving to Portland in the near future, so one of the first things I did was google that to see if there were ways we could meet other CF people if we ended up moving. Sure enough it came up with something.

Thanks for the suggestion, naz! I think I might have found a local group.

The CF group idea is great. Another idea is to seek out friends who are older. That way either their kids are grown, or they're CF and good company. Good luck!!

Thanks. I'll try the Google search!

And, I'm glad to have found this board. At least I don't feel like we're so alone now.

Hi Manderley,
Thanks for joining us...always room for one more.
Don't forget single people...we have quite a few in our circle.
They often feel REALLY left out around couples and families...one of our friends said she was increasingly excluded as her friends married...they didn't seem to want a single woman around - and if they did include her, she spent the evening fending off questions about her love life or lack thereof and a few well meaning friends were continually forcing blind dates on her...she was told a few times, "you can't afford to be too fussy - you're getting on"...
So, single people often get a poor deal as well.
We also, have older people in our circle.
I'm not sure of your age...but certain interests seem to attract the CF - wine tasting and wine dinners for instance - we have met lots of like minded people at these functions.

Thanks for the welcome Deborah.

I'm 32 and my husband is 30. We've been married almost 9 years. We do have a couple of single friends, and I'm grateful for that. We also have a lot of great friends with kids, but it would be so nice to have at least one other couple that is CF.

Wine tasting sounds like a great idea. We'll have to give that a try. I did do a google search for CF groups in our area, but I didn't come up with anything there.

Try this one (not sure of its validity, as it won't let me open it up at work)
