I've noticed from quite a few posts that we've got some active people in here. I work out at the gym and play racquetball, and when I work out, I always have my iPod on. I'm always looking for cool songs to add, and I was wondering if those of you who work out to music had some favorites/suggestions. Here are some of mine:

1. "Paralyzer" by Finger Eleven (newest addition)
2. "Rockstar" by Nickelback
3. "Walk this Way" by Run-DMC
4. "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnson
5. "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani
6. "Spybreak!" by Propellerheads (from "The Matrix" soundtrack
7. "Joy & Pain" by Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock
8. "One Vision" by Queen
9. "Crazy [censored]" by Buck Cherry
10. "Miss Independent" by Kelly Clarkson

Ooh! I have Hollaback Girl, too!

My 5k run list is:

Eminem "Lose Yourself"
Christina Aguilera "Ain't no other man"
Gwen Stefani "Hollaback Girl"
Theme from Rocky
OK Go "Here we go again"
Blue Man Group "Rods and Cones"
Theme from Rocky

I have Rocky on halfway through to keep me going and I have the songs timed so that the second time it plays I run to the finish line as the song ends. I'm into dramatics :-)

Thanks for sharing, everyone. I'm totally going to check out those other songs!

You know, I like this thread. The Troll Zuzu might have reminded us to talk about the things that we do get to do- like go the gym whenever and as often as we like- and the fact the MNK lifestyls is so full of FREEDOM!!!

My husband and I have been going to the gym togehter lately and we do feel very fit and glamourous, and fortunate that our schedules work out this way for now. We talk and walk around the track, then he goes to the weight room while I run.

I currently listen to mostly podcasts- with a few songs woven in:

**Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy- Big and Rich
**I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (In perfect Harmony)- the New Seekers
**I Don't Feel Like Dancing- The Scissor Sisters

Podcasts that I like are "The Classic Tales" "Vital Signs" and Yale's Health and Medicine topics on Epilepsy, Dyslexia, and Skin Cancers. Also one about Darwin's take on Creationism. Very interesting stuff to take my mind off of running.

My MP3 player is dying - it won't run on batteries for more than a few minutes - so I've gotten out of the habit of working out with music. Given that it might die completely any day, I downloaded the 350-odd songs off it onto CD a few months back. I realised the other day that my new car has an MP3 player, so I put the CD's in the car. It's awesome listening to stuff I haven't heard for a couple of years, and with 100+ tracks on one CD!!

If I was packing music to work out to today, it would be K-OS "Atlantis : Hymns for Disco" (this is a fabulous album!) and Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" (hearing "Girlfriend" always makes me want to dance) and Rihanna's "Good Girl Gone Bad". I know, I should be 14, not 40...

I believe you're right, Pinkbows -- as discourteous as Zuzu was in her manner of questioning, she did have a point. I always try to see any validation in someone's point of view, be it in religion, politics, whatever -- and since her posts, I have been focusing on the things I like rather than pointing out the things in others' lives I don't like.

This post was one of those efforts. I love to work out, and I'm so needing suggestions on more workout songs...my song library is getting old!

I usually watch television when I work out. I'd like to try listening to music for a change, though. Thanks for this thread and all the great suggestions!
