Hi everyone? I hope you had a great holiday season. I was wondering if anyone had any New Years resolutions in regard to decorating? Basically just wondering what kind of projects you were hoping to get to this year? Let's talk about them and share in each other's progress!

Hey Donna, I have started working on my mold room. We pulled the wallpaper off but it didn't all come off and so the paper left on the wall has to come off before I can do anything else. I also have a small chest that my mother in law gave me and it had been painted and so I have it stripped and am putting some wood conditioner on it right now. It just takes so long for stuff to dry this time of the year. I also need to get a screen door painted but have not started on that one yet. I had my toe nail removed a week ago and so I can't be on my foot for too long or my toe starts to swell. I sure hope that toe nail doesn't grow back because I don't want to have to do that again!

Hi Connie! Wow, you are starting the year off and running (well - except for that toe! ouch!). I figured you might have a lot of things going on.

Sorry that the wallpaper is giving you fits. What are you doing to get the rest of the paper off?

Your chest sounds really neat! I have an old chest that belonged to my mil that needs refinishing, too. That is not on my list just yet, though.

Where are you going to put your chest when it's done?

Hope your toe is better soon!

I am just using a spray bottle and wetting the paper and it comes right off. We really didn't thing about not getting all the paper when we pulled it off the first time. Next time (I have a bathroom that has wallpaper) I will spray the walls with water first and I think it will all come off at one time.

I am not sure where I am going to put the little chest. It isn't very big and originally I had thought it would make a nice little toy box. My "bead barn" room is going to change into a spare bedroom in a couple of weeks. I had the chest in there and had bead stuff in it. We were at my grammas when they were cleaning her house out to get it ready to sell and no one wanted this bedroom suite...it has a double bed, triple dresser and a dresser with a mirror and two night stands. No way all that will actually fit in my spare bedroom, but now we will have a bigger bed and some place for visitors to stay.

I am working on jewelry for a show in March so that is a good excuse to rest that toe!
