When you use the term "bingo", what does that mean in this forum? I am just curious.

As I understand it, to "bingo" someone means to harass him/her about his/her decision to be childfree, typically using arguments that the childfree person has heard about a million times before. Someone (not someone on this forum, I think) made a funny "breeder bingo" card listing some of the phrases that come up again and again--for example, "it's different when it's your own," "don't you want to give your parents grandchildren," "you were a child once," and "who will take care of you when you're old." You can see an example of it here:

Must say I had never heard the expression before joining this forum - but I soon caught on to the meaning.

Haha, I was wondering what it meant too, that card is a riot. I ONCE got a sly "Never say never" (which I'd place in the "you'll change your mind" slot) from an aunt of mine. ONCE. I spelt out exactly what I thought of her saying that and she never brought it up again. My mom halfway teased/tested me about when I would have kids. I told her as soon as she has another one. She's over 50 with a hysterectomy, so she told me "That's not going to happen!" I said "Exactly."

I used that same answer to a gay guy from work who bingoed me! He thinks all straight people who get married are going to have kids. So he asked me "You're married now, when are you going to have a kid?" I replied "As soon as you do!" (He can't stand kids!)

My DH has a cousin who is a mid-30's commitment-phobic very confirmed bachelor (has had girlfriends but always breaks up when it gets too serious). He used to bug me about having kids -and my answer has always been "I'll have a kid when YOU get MARRIED!" Now it's sort of a running joke since neither of us is in any danger of those things happening.

I've been really wanting to ask this question! Thanks, Vance!
