I was reading a book recently called, "2 Do Before You Die." It's written to inspire its readers to think of what they would like to do in their lifetime, with short, one-page stories... like someone remembering the boat they had as a child, and wanting to have a boat again. Or parachuting from a plane, or making a family cookbook, or going back to finish college, or streaking naked. You get the picture. It could be anything, big or small, but things you would like to do in your lifetime.

I saw something similar in the book, "The Artist's Way," which i read years ago with a group of women. One of the exercises in the book was to come up with 100 things you wanted to do. It takes you a week or so, to come up with a list, and i think the list always changes, but i was amazed when i came across that list years later to discover i actually had done a lot of things on that list!

Anyone feel like doing this?

I want to actually write (or I should say finish writing) a book.

I'm not even going to put getting published down on the list yet - because I've got to do the first part, first!

Wow, this is a great idea for a thread! Thanks Holly.

1 - See my children grow into happy successful adults

2 - Be a creator of the-next-best-thing on the web (like that guy who created Myspace or ebay)

3 - Get my house just the way I want it

4 - Have a beautiful and productive garden (difficult in Pa with the wild life)

5 - Meet Peyton Manning (silly, I know, but I can't help it)

6 - Own a house on the beach - any beach, anywhere in the US

7 - Have enough money to help someone who needs it.

That is all I can think of right now, maybe I will think of more later. I have really dug deep, I should probably pick some more attainable goals lol.

This may sound crazy but as probably the oldest crone writing in this thread I will have to say I've completed the goals I set out for my life.

So now what?

When I wake up in the morning I try to be as helpful as I can with those I'm in contact with on the internet, including family and friends, and maintain a clean vibration.

And be kind to my hubby, too. smirk

Susan - You are very luck to have accomplished all you have wanted to. Congratulations for that! Just so you know I think you are one of the most helpful people - especially to other editors here!

Your cat looks a lot like my cat Fisher, Susan K. I like your goal of maintaining a "clean vibration." I think you do very well at it, much to our benefit.

I'm also reminded of that woman who'd never climbed a mountain in her life, and climbed her first one at 80. (Not that you need to have any goal like that!)

And i have an older student who came to me to learn knitting when she was 82, and she's still taking my classes 4 years later and making cable sweaters and socks and lace!

And my mom had an older friend who started learning Italian when she turned 90, LOL. She had grown up in Japan, the daughter of Christian missionaries... so she had quite an interesting life! I still have a silver ring that she made for me to hold a silver pearl i wanted to give my mother. smile

I'd like to be like that... both content and still finding new things to do.

I'm really close to accomplishing #13 on my list. A gallery owner and i have agreed i'm going to do it, and next we're going to get together and talk about what might sell.

And this spring i'm going to start working on #11... having a vegetable garden. I hope you experienced gardners out there will help me with advice, because i really don't know what i'm doing, LOL!

Sue Early Childhood... i had a friend named Lisa who wanted to one day meet Anthony Robbins, and it seemed very unlikely to happen. But about 6 months later, i was standing next to her when she met him!!! smile

I think your goals are wonderful! I can picture you in a lounge chair on your beach!
