AND me! (Waving hand from Dallas!)

I wonder how expensive gas has to get for people to stop having so many kids and buying huge, gas-guzzling SUVs to haul them around in?

Guess it's true that everything is bigger in Texas then. How's that for a stereotype!!

*rings obnoxious cowbell* I'm in Texas, too! And I have one of those gas-guzzling SUVs myself, thank you very much. I just like to sit high up. Trust me -- with my driving skills, especially in any traffic, it's better for all of you this way. You all were in more danger during the years I had my Camaro and Firebird. *evil snicker*

I may not be the most environment-friendly human, but at least I'm not like the Burleson rep with whom I just spent two days training. She walks into one of our doctors' offices (we're in medical sales) and blurts out, "I shot my first RABBIT!" They proceeded to then talk about how many points they got on their last buck.

I didn't say a word until we got back into the car. I don't have near as much of a problem when people shoot to eat (not advocating it, just saying I don't have as much of a problem with it), so I asked her, "So...did you eat the rabbit you shot?"

"Oh heck no, they're just varmints! They're overpopulated anyway!" she said with a guffaw. There was no way I was going to enter into a conversation starting out with what I had to hold back like, "What did the rabbit ever do to you?" I just sank in my seat, counting the minutes before I could return to Dallas.

I guess I'm guilty of what someone else recently pointed out...I'm justifying driving an SUV by pointing out the fact that I don't shoot rabbits for target practice? Oy. Sorry for the derailment.

Angela- I'm being a total hypocrite, you understand. Hubby and I own a Nissan Titan. Our other vehicle is a Hyundai Elantra, though.

Camaro... Firebird... mmmmmmmmmm.......

Oh, and the one thing that aint bigger in Texas is the danged parking spaces.

*LAUGH* You got that right about parking spaces. Such big cars, such little spots to put them in.

Angela, your SUV isn't like a big honkin' Hummer or Suburban, I saw it the other night! It's like a Hyundai Santa Fe, right? I think those are pretty fuel-economical for SUVs, correct?

I normally drive a 2005 Mustang, its peppyness comes in handy when I gotta get out of the way of the big SUVs and pickup trucks! (Had to dodge one by DFW just the other day!) Lately I've been driving our "dog car" more often, it's a 1993 Ford Escort that can get close to 30mpg. Plus, it's nice to drive it and keep the Mustang low miles and clean! LOL!
