Good for them! What kind of insane parent would bring a kid to a place like that anyway?

It only makes sense that there be an adults only restaurant there. On the Disney cruise there is a spa that is adults only, a restuarant and a pool with hot tub at one end of the pool deck with a bar that are all adults only.

I spoke too soon, at the time of me looking..15 % of the people involved in the poll said they would no longer be willing to go to disney world because of the banning.

I can tell you from personal experience that Disney goes out of its way to be a place that adults enjoy as well. There are places all over there that are for adults only. Pleasure Island being one of them. I don't imagine on the many championship gold courses you see many children either. There are night clubs/bars all over that do not allow children.

Even given this there is plenty for children to do, they do their best to make sure everyone has a good time.

"Are there that many adults in Disney land with out children.?"

YES ME!! AND my hubby!
Not Disney LAND (although I went there as a teen) but Disney WORLD.
Me and hubby went there during my summer holiday last August and had a wonderful time. It was a dream of mine to go AND GUESS who inspired it?!
My mum and dad who went there just the two of them for an anniversary! They took video and photos and I kinda went WOW!
We didn't get to go to the NightClubs cause we were coming from the UK and the time zone thing got us - especially hubby SIGH! - but we hope to go back in about three years and stay longer, get used to the time zone thing and go out and dance dance dance when we are used to it. Those clubs sound amazing! We didn't go to Blizzard Beach waterpark - again, NEXT time! but
we did go to Typhoon Lagoon the other one and again had SO MUCH FUN!
The downtown area is also a shopping and eating and movie area. There is a games arcade but it was so packed we couldn't get in so we didn't get to check that out.
I think we got on things more quickly cause there were only two of us to get seats for - not three, four or more!
And sometimes we debated what to do next and I said frustrated at one stage I was SO glad there were only TWO of us, imagine if we had kids and THEY TOO had their OWN opinions about what they wanted to do and we had to go with! BUT
I DO agree with what Lisa Orlando (hey - you live close to DisneyWorld!) (Lucky!) said:
"I can tell you from personal experience that Disney goes out of its way to be a place that adults enjoy as well. There are places all over there that are for adults only. Pleasure Island being one of them. I don't imagine on the many championship gold courses you see many children either. There ARE things
for adults AND kids.
I think of Disney World as more adult focused than Disney Land BUT Magic Kingdom in Disney Land from what I remember is like Disney Land well some of the rides were the same (remember, I've now been to both!) but hubby loved Magic Kingdom - so did I of course.
My only reservation is whether to stay on site next time. I actually talked to a representative re Disney accomodation who I think was also childfree! She was lovely and recommended Coronado Springs but we stayed on International Drive - got a good package. I'd like to be closer next time but I want to avoid the screaming kids in my hotel thing.
It might not be like that but it might.
I stayed in Vegas Christmas 2005 loved the casinos (didn't gamble - too smokey - loved the themes, saw a show, had a buffet, saw an art exhibition) but on Xmas Day in my hotel there
were lots of noisy kids and I was like I have to get OUT of here!
Remember,
I also work with kids!
But I have to holiday when they do being a teacher.
Oh well!
The kids in WDW were excellent on the whole and in Orlando too. One kid was crying and screaming but that was it! In August! The only other one that REALLY annoyed us was a boy who sat on his father's shoulders and kept ringing the bells walking up the Everest ride. Parents and non parents alike were getting ticked off at him and ticked off at his dad for encouraging him!
But often on the buses mothers would put their kid who was in a seat onto their laps so I could sit down!
HOWEVER, on the way back on the budget airline, I had the family from HELL! They were UK NOT USA. The boy kept putting back his chair and in the end that hit my head and me and his charming (NOT!) mother had an argument.
Before that the boy pressed the buzzer about four times for the flight attendant, all to ask about the movie!
AND the girl wasn't much better. She - like all of us - was given a drink about five minutes before landing. She drank it up. AFTER that she decided she needed to take some kind of tablet so she rang the buzzer when the damn plane was trying to LAND! to call a flight attendant to get a drink!! HELLO! You just HAD a cup of juice why didn't you KEEP it?!
And the boy BEHIND me kept kicking my seat and it was uncomfortable.
But the kids in Walt Disney World and the kids in Orlando no problems at ALL.
In fact the crying boy didn't bother me cause I just think (a) poor thing is tired and (b) THANK GOD I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT!!!
Anyway, Walt Disney World and land can be GREAT for adults if you like theme parks and things (we do but we like beach, culture, adventure, nature, photography and other things too) and I even found a childfree Walt Disney World forum at one stage!!

I leave the child-rearing to people who feel called to it. I've never felt that call.
