My neighbours are CF (how cool is that?) and they have a minivan and love it. They use it for hauling big dogs and full sheets of plywood.

My car criteria was always that I had to be able to sleep in the back, in case it rained when I was camping...but I just went from a Ford Focus wagon to a Suzuki SX4, which is a hatchback Tonka toy on steroids. It's uber cute but SO tiny, and I miss the extra room already. As I said to my friend last time we went to the ski hill "did I tell you the joke about the SX4 and the 170cm snowboard?" (as I'm trying to put it in sideways so it will fit ...)

I looked at a minivan a couple of times, but I just can't justify driving such a big lumbering thing for the few times I have to haul something. Plus I like to "play in traffic" and I can't really imagine doing that in a Grand Caravan!!

We have a '07 Yaris. We love it, but it is so tiny. DH actually said, "next car we get should be a minivan." I don't know about that with the gas mileage, but I think it may be something to consider, especially now that we have two dogs.

SIL just got a minivan. It's so sad, though, that she had to go that route because they got rid of HER car. Why? Her hubby said "I refuse to drive a blue car." *Rolls eyes.*

But with a big dog and a kid, a minivan is the way to go. Better than an SUV.

Pikasam, you can still "play in traffic" lol. Instead of weaving in and out you can just play with all the features. I've been going over the brochure and the Caravan seems like a home entertainment center on wheels!

But anyway, I love the Swivel 'N Go feature with the removable table, but since I don't have kids that wouldn't really do me much good so the Stow 'N Go is prob my favorite feature. Definitely need storage. I have an SUV now it looks like a tornado flew threw it so at least I'd be able to hide stuff in the future.

Sooooo. I actually test drove the Caravan and..I loved it. I wish I was a kid again so I could spend my time in the swivel seats! The table was a cool feature too. It would be a good set up for adults on a road trip. You could play cards and watch DVDs in the back and the people up from could play with the navigation system and the myGig system. It even has a "conversation mirror" so you can keep an eye on what's going on in the van. Really enjoyable test drive.
