I had an idea (okay, no wize-cracks! LOL)...

How many of us might be interested in knitting the same pattern simultaneously? I thought it might be fun. Sort of like a book club only this would be a pattern club, i guess. We can easily find free patterns online... we can each make suggestions for which one to do and then vote on it. What do you think?

Hollyelise are you suggesting a Knitalong? If so perhaps the free pattern could be my Tote Bag here -BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!

Is there? I didn't know that. Surprisingly, i have not heard of knit-alongs, though i have heard of knit-ins.

That's a good pattern suggestion. Most of us can use more bags. I was planning to make a bag soon anyway. I was going to make the Hemp Market Bag out of Bag Style by Pam Allen and Ann Budd... but the pattern would be difficult for some in our group here, and the pattern is not available for free, either. One of my students is making it now out of Hempathy (an Elsebeth Lavold yarn, i think), and it's quite lovely. I want to make one in a dark purple.

Try holding the cable in the steam of a kettle, stretched out straight, for two or three minutes. Be careful not to put the tips in the steam and be aware that it won't remove the curl entirely, but it does help.
