I don't know about all of your movie tastes, but if you enjoy funny movies, I would recommend that you watch "Idiocracy". It is one of those dumb funny movies in places, and in other places, it's very smart. It's scary how it actually predicts what the future of this country might look like, should the stupid continue to breed at such high rates of speed.

I was just wondering if the rest of you CF folks have seen this one yet, and what you thought. I cracked up throughout the movie, and the first part was pretty indicative of the way things are - at least in my experience.

I haven't seen it yet, but the same friend who is dying to be a daddy and bingos the hell out of me at every turn is the friend who recommended it. Maybe he thinks it'll be a tool to help him change my mind... Something like "You're not stupid! You could pop out a kid and save the world!" Um, no.

OMG, I love this movie!!! I recommend it to anyone who I feel I can talk to about being CF. It totally shows the damage that the breeders of the world could cause! Too bad human technology trumped natural selection.

The scary thing is, I see breeders like that all over my community. People with little to no intelligence having children as if it were their goal in life to boost our population.

Being CF and after working in social services, seeing how unwanted children suffer and watching generational poverty, I couldn't help but think that perhaps mass sterilization of those on welfare with more than two kids would save more of the planet as well as tax payers' dollars. That's a pretty unpopular viewpoint and I tend to keep it to myself. I bet it would prevent the "Idiocracy" future from happening, though.

I love dumb movies but for some reason I just hated this one. I do wholeheartedly agree with the message though. Makes perfect sense to me.
