When I met my best friend, we were both single, party girls. Then, I fell in love, got married and had a daughter.

My best friend and I did not want to follow the path of what everyone told us would happen (once you have kids, you don't really hang out with childless people anymore...)

So, we launched a blog to document the funny aspects of our friendship -- www.girlgonechild.com.

I promise, I'm not trying to sell you anything and it's not porn. BUT, it is satirical, r-rated and to some, offensive....and funny. It's a different take on parenthood. I hope you will take a few minutes to check it out.

A different take than my friend and I had, in the years when she was still single, and I was married, then had a baby.

We had more of a "grass is greener" relationship. I used to think the fact that she was unfettered, able to see different guys, etc. was so free -- and she envied my stable relationship.

Later, when I had a baby, she was again envious. Then she met "him" -- I could tell when she started talking about him, it was different... and then, when she told me they were getting married, I wasn't surprised at all.

Odds are, eventually, Haley will have her own "final adventure" -- though, as I'm sure you are aware, there are other types of adventure to be had within marriage, too!

Thanks for checking it out. Yes, I am optimistic that Haley will find "the one". In the meantime, I just hope she doesn't find anyone with a serious criminal record, current wife or something worse.

OMG!! I can't stop laughing!!! I can relate to both of you. I have grown children even thoguh I'm only 44, my youngest is graduating this year and my husband is 10 years younger than me and we have several single friends who are his age. We have some who have young children; they can NEVER go anywhere and we always have to go to their house and play with the kids while Hannah Montana is on the TV or we end up playing some kids game and it takes forever cuz the kids always take forever making their move.

Our single friends always want to go to the bar where no one can talk and no one wants to talk to us anyway!! We end up sitting alone staring at each other and texting each other about when we think we can just leave and they won't notice we're gone. lol. Then believe it or not we also have friends who are grandparents. Their kids live with them so the babies are there too. We always have to leave early becasu the kids have to go to bed and they are tired now that they are "old".

I think it's great that you and your friend can laugh.

I'm so glad you're liking the blog - Jezebel.com wrote a big article about us yesterday...OMG - we've had 2000 readers int he past 24 hours. We are so excited. However, all the Jezebel readers seem to love Haley and hate me - I'm still thrilled.
