Resolutions seem to create a mix of responses. Some people have sworn off them, some keep trying and others use them to beat themselves up when they fail!

I have a different idea. Every one of us women want to grow our businesses in some way. What if we looked at growing ourselves first so that we are in the best place to create more effective businesses?

You cannot fail at being you so what if the first thing that happens is that you give yourself permission to invite your full potential forward?

This means I invite you to allow the incredible business woman you already are to come forward. I invite you to open up to the possibility you already have everything it takes to succeed!

The real goal here is to learn how to become yourself so you can be your best in your business.

See, there isn't any failure in this kind of New Year's Resolution.

What do you think?

Thanks for the inspirational post. Resolutions is useless when you don't put it into actions and must believe you can achieve it. It is important that you are determine to do it.

I will take this to heart.

It's great to see that our minds are focused on bringing out the best of ourselves in 2008.

I will spend time thinking about business avenues that will give my passion and potential room to shine.

Again...Thanks.

Another thing that helps with New Year's Resolutions is to resolve to only work on one thing at a time. So many people set themselves up for failure by trying to change too many things at once. Little wonder they get overwhelmed!

Think of one change which would have the greatest positive impact on your life or your business. Focus on creating that one change before you move on to accomplish the next thing.

Setting up a support sytem can really make a huge difference too. When I have an accountability partner, I may put in that extra effort just to keep my word.

I love New Years as it seems a good time for reflecting on what has worked, what hasn't worked and what changes you want to make. My personal resolution will be to be more organized about my time so I don't waste it on unproductive things. That way I can get my work done and have time to enjoy some sort of other activities.

I tend to get wound up in my day and not do other activities, except my daily walk. Then at the end of the day, I"m sick of sitting at the computer.

Hi Joan,

I personally love New Year's as a great time of personal evaluation, too. I think it's because I see it as an empowering time where I look at what I want to change, knowing that it is within my power to make those changes.
