Well - another unplanned teen pregnancy. Apparently, Britney Spears sister, Jamie, is 12 weeks pregnant. Someone please stop the crazy train that is the Spears family.

Oh boy. I didn't know her sis had a show on Nickelodeon. Wow, she's a really great role model for tweens - NOT. It's SO depressing! I've always been paranoid about getting pregnant. I'm stunned that other people aren't. Her life is over. What a shame.

Teen pregnancy is so sad. They have no idea who they are, and their growth is permanently stunted b/c they are now forced to start in on the next generation. God knows, most of them continue to act like teenagers after they have their kids. I wonder what the teen pregnancy stats are today? I think I read they were down, in general.

Being preggers seems to be the new Hollywood thing. Stupid and sad, but true.

My first reaction to this story was that while her teen worshippers may now think the cool thing to do is to reproduce, few to none of them will have the resources (esp $$$) to care for it like she will. Oh, wait, the way I worded that implies that she will actually care for the baby herself... my goof. I think what will happen here is that the Spears family will just hire another nanny, but Jamie Lynn's fans won't be so lucky.

It always amazes me how parents can act so clueless when a teenage pregnancy happens. I remember being 16 and boy crazy to a certain extent but the threat of getting pregnant scared me to death. That fear was stronger than any attraction to a boy. Plus my mother would not allow an opportunity for me to be alone with a boy. I thank her so much for that now. So, I put the blame on the parents for not being the parents that they should. Jamie Lynn was given the opportunity to be alone with a boy and she was not mature enough to make the right decision. I realize that no one is perfect and things happen in life. I wish her the best but I feel sorry for her young fans that look up to her. One point I wanted to make was that some of these gossip sites are calling Jamies just like big sister Brittany. Although I know that Brittany has her problems, she was an adult married woman when she had her 2 sons. She was not a child. There is a big difference.

Sigh. Guess you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but getting the trailer park out of the girl is obviously a bit tougher.

Seriously though, you have to wonder. Has she not learned anything from her sisters implosion?

I hear the mother is writing a parenting book - that should be good for snorting milk out of your nose...

And to think, their momma was writing a "parenting" book. I use that term lightly there folks. It was supposed to be able what life is like raising children in the limelight. *rolls eyes* the publisher sent out a statement yesterday saying it was "delayed indefinately", not cancelled though. Yea right, who is going to buy a book about "parenting" from someone like her. I think your kids are definately a reflection of you.

Oh yeah, it killed me when the mom said, "she was never late home for her curfew". Hello???? Like giving a kid a curfew is going to prevent them for doing things like having sex *rolls eyes*

I read an article the other day that said for the first time in, I believe, 14 years the teen pregnancy rate has risen this year.
I was sexually active when I was Jamie Lynn's age, but if I gotten pregnant I would have had an abortion- no question. A baby is not worth ruining my life for.
