Besides video games, there isn't anything else that he would like for Christmas. He's not much into clothes or cologne. Any ideas? What would be some popular gifts for this age group?

I just bought my kids a keyboard from American Music and they were amazingly quick about getting the product shipped - next day and they had the best price. I saved $100.00.

other than that, does he read?

DVDs, CDs, MP3 Player, IPOD, Cell Phone & Accessories, Attitude TShirts,

Gift Certificates at a music store,

It would be easier if I knew his hobbies and interests rather than what he's not into.

Check out amazon.com they have products sorted by age etc.

My 18 yo is getting a class ring and varsity jacket and he's almost at budget! I usually get him some dvd's like - Family Guy, and anything gross that teenage boys like. If he plans on going to college, or is already there, I am sure he could use some dorms stuff. Gift certs to pizza places and movie theaters are always great for that age. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the ideas!
He does like music and has a keyboard and guitar. I was thinking about a set of drums until I saw how expensive they are. The dorm stuff is a good idea since he will be going away to college this spring. Believe it or not, he still has gift cards from last Christmas that he hasn't used. I will check out amazon for his age group.

I dont know the budget but he will need a laptop for college? Or start him off with a laptop account to encourage him to save?

He already has one, it was a high school graduation gift.
Thanks, anyway.

What about an iTunes giftcard? You mentioned that he's a musician. My husband blew through a $50 iTunes card in about 20 minutes.

Or possibly something dorm-friendly like a TV or stereo. I know that guys like dorm stuff that benefits their friends, too =)

Instead of a regular drumset, try an electronic set...my husband is 20 and he's a drummer, but its nice to have the electronic one because he can listen to it on his headset, and its smaller.
