Do you have a favorite holiday memory? If so, please share. It does not have to be Midwest related, any and all holiday memories are welcome!

I remember one year when my sister and I liked to play in the corner behind the Christmas tree. We ended up dumping it over!

My mom used to buy us a Christmas ornament for each year and label it with a tag and the date. I have ornaments going back to 1954. I always bought ornaments for the kids and now, for the grandkids. When the kids moved out and got their own homes, I boxed up their ornaments and they had a start to decorating their trees.

That's more of a tradition, I guess, but those ornaments are full of wonderful memories!

When I was about 8 years old my Dad decided that we would make a lollipop tree for Christmas. I don't remember how he got the idea or where it originated, but I remember being so excited about the whole thing. He cut a tree shape out of plywood and we covered the tree with white tissue paper. We attached assorted lollipops on the tree and put it up for display. It probably wasn't the tree that was so exciting, but the time that we spent together. I'll always remember it.

I love this tradition Joan! We had special ornaments when I was growing up, but they were just bought (or made) here and there. I wonder if my dad still has any of these? I'll have to check.

Thanks for sharing Joan!
