I have owned a Senegal parrot for about 7 years now and he is such an escape artist. He knows how to open all the doors on his cage, so I've had to padlock the main door and I have to put a dowel through the padlock so he won't jiggle the door open. It takes him a while to whittle the dowel down to a nub. It's pretty funny that he can do all this.
Of course I love it when he laughs when we are laughing and if he hears me crying...he'll cry with me. He's adorable.
A lot of parrots are escape artists, but I'm sure its really a game to them. They may or may not actually want out of the cage, but its sure fun to find a way out.
