*High Five's Tami*

Tami was kind enough to start a neat topic on the Business Coaching Board, so I figured I'd return the favor.

So, how has Life Coaching helped you?

Have you noticed you're happier? Your family is happier? Your boss is happier?

I'll start:

Even though I've been a Business Coach and Life Coach since 2001, I've used coaching to improve myself, as well. Top athletes, executives, and entertainers all use coaches to help them be at their best.

If I'm feeling overwhelmed, because I take on too much at once, a Life Coach can help me by being a sounding board and by helping me prioritize and remember to take care of myself at times when it's easy to forget.

Ok, your turn!

Sincerely,

Meg Meyer

Great idea for a thread, Meg! wink Thanks!

I can't help but respond here because I really think that coaching has truly helped to transform my life.

I am empowered as I am encouraged to recognize my own potential with someone coaching me on to really pursue my deepest desires and biggest dreams.

As a result, I am creating a life for myself that once seemed like a barely possible dream. It's like I have wings while knowing I am firmly grounded in what is reality.

Coaching has also sparked my creativity... it seems that the more I open up to possibility, the more ideas come to me. It is wonderful and exciting to have ideas and believe they are possible to achieve. It's fun to pick which one to play with next.

As a Coach for other Women, I think I often get as much out of the sessions as they do. So many of our issues as women have a common thread. I invite them to grow, while I continue to grow right along with them. It is empowering to me to empower other women.

I could go on and on, but that's not fair to those who like shorter posts! smile

Life coaching has completely transformed me. I have always been everyone's resource person. I am a sort of Jane-of-all-trades so it had been really difficult for me to settle on a career that allowed me to utilize all of my talents and expertise and didn't invite boredom. It had been a long-standing joke that I would eventually start charging all of my friends and family for all of the advice and support I provide them when they get me on a 3AM crisis call. Now I do! I never realized that I had been naturally coaching since my teens. I have a mentor coach who has helped me to develop my practice and hone my skills so that I can truly be an effective partner in aiding my clients to achieve their wildest dreams. The journey has been fun and I am definitely looking forward to staying on the path for many years to come. If you have never tried coaching before, I urge you to do so. Most coaches offer a complimentary session so I advise anyone interested to take advantage of the free sessions. You really have nothing to lose and EVERYTHING to gain.

Happy Living!

Welcome Niquenya,

It is great to meet another Coach on here who also has her own coach! Thanks for sharing. Having had such a positive experience being coached ourselves sure gives us insight into how empowering it feels for our clients to move forward. smile

Where would someone find a "Life Coach"? How does someone become a "Life Coach"?

Hi Am Z,

There's a great directory of Certified Life Coaches at www.coachesandmentors.com (You'll see me on there! smile )

There are many Life Coaching schools out there, but few are recognized by the International Coaching Federation, the most recognized Coaching Governing Body in the world. ICF has the recognized schools on their website at www.coachfederation.org

I was happy with www.coachtrainingalliance.com You can get certified by taking classes over the internet and getting materials via regular mail and email. Don't be fooled by the class hours they post. There is a lot of work involved, but it's worth it if this is what you feel passionate about.

Best wishes,

Tami

Back in 1999 I used a coach, I sincerely wish I could remember her name, to determine that I should go back to college. I was really torn about what to do, but she really helped me see that I needed to go to college.

I want to become a Divorce Coach, so I hope to find some training and I'm sure that will involve finding a coach for myself to see how it works.

I believe a good coach is very valuable in all aspects of life.

Stephanie, i really think there is a strong market of women who could really use the kind of advice and support you offer. Honestly. You come across, in person, as very kind, helpful and experienced.

I want to look for a life coach myself but am not sure exactly which kind to narrow it down to. Coaches for super creative yet eccentric crazy people? smile
