I am just writing in a desperate hope of finding other people who are feeling sick and vomiting all the time. That may seem strange, but I am beginning to feel like a freak and a recluse that has no life!! I'm happy to be pregnant, but this sickysickysicky stuff is making me absolutely miserable...I mean what kind of a design fault is that??? I haven't been put in hospital yet, although my doctor has been threatening it. I really try and eat, but can only manage babyrice and bananas. I'm a bit worried for my baby too as I've lost tonnes of weight...although to be fair you could live off my thighs for a year!! Can anyone else relate?? I'm feeling so alone (sob sob etc).

Hi Raybena,
I can't say I have ever had your problem but I have had a few (thankfully only a few) clients with morning (all day, night) sickness as bad as yours sounds. You are definitely not alone! Could you share some more info with me, such as how many weeks pregnant you are, and what you have already tried? Maybe I would have some suggestions you haven't tried. Actually, I have a hand-out with over a page of different things to try. What works for one woman doesn't help the next, so sometimes you have to try several things to find something that works.
Has your doctor suggested any medications to help?
Good luck! Claudine Crews

Oh Girl, I feel your pain. I had my baby this past May and I threw up almost every single day from 6 weeks on. I even threw up on my husband on the delivery table. LOL. My dr. prescribed me something called zofran ( i don't know if i spelled that right). Anyways, I tried to only take that on my worst days. I had it so bad that I couldn't even go in the grocery store without puking outside of my car. Gasoline, coffee, vanilla and Oh My Gosh, french fries of all things made me puke violently. I lost around 20 lbs at first and then around month 6-7 finally started to gain lbs. My dr. said as long as I could keep fluids down that the baby would get what he needed from my body. He was born 2 weeks early and was a perfect bill of health. My advice for you, eat whatever you can keep down. I went through kicks where I could eat dove chocolate and apples and i did. Another month, it was oranges and i ate like 3 a day sometimes. One day, i could have eatten a whole box of tacquitos and the next it made me so sick. It's weird how your body does things sometimes. But just remember, the end result is totally worth it. After my baby was born, i lost my weight fairly quickly. Now, maybe you won't have the sickness the whole time. I was able to eat more towards the end, but i still would throw up in the mornings. Those were some of the most miserable days of my life. I thought I was going to die, really. I kept my head in a toilet at work until December when I quit. (they brewed coffee all day and had vanilla glade plug ins going all the time). But now, these are some of the best days. Just remember that this too shall pass. I wish you the best of days. OH and also, one more thing, I was only in labor for 6-1/2 hrs and this was my 1st baby. So maybe you will have a speedy delivery too. Best of luck.
P.S. I still hate vanilla to this day, but I love fries again:)

There is something that is making your baby very upset LOL. Anybody smoke around you? Drink coffee? Those two really got to me in a HUGE way. Try a drop of peppermint oil or lavender... under your nose each morning... something that is soothing to you. Crackers are your friend. Is your shampoo, soap, perfume, bothering you? It may smell OK to you but not to baby. Laundry soap? Just grasping at straws here, anything his worth a shot when you are that miserable.
On the upside, so many sicky pgs tend to have easy labor <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
It will come to an end and it will be worth it. Sorry it sucks now.
Black licorish made me feel better, and I HATED that stuff before and now... go figure.

I've never been pregnant, but i like reading about so I learn alot before I have a child of my own. I never really thought about smells or anything like that may seem fine to you, but not to the baby. As much as that makes sense, I think it's something alot of people maybe don't think about. I find that very interesting. I know people who have had very easy pregnancies, but rough deliveries, and people who had harder pregnancies alot of them had a quick and easy delivery. (as easy as it can be! LOL) Good luck to you, and I hope you don't have to feel that way for much longer.

Your morning sickness sounds serious! Have you checked from your doctor that you are not suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum? If not, try technique that cures morning sickness quite effectively. Check out at http://www.curesmorningsickness.com

I am 37 weeks and I know exactly how you feel even smells of spices and pizza can make me throw up. in the morning brushing my teeth is the worst. but the further along I have gotten it has slowly changed. such as in the begining I couldn't even think of pizza, everything I ate came right back up. trust me it gets better. my real problem now is heartburn.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Finally, someone else with this problem. I looked like something off the Exorcist for a long time. I'm 22 weeks and still yacking up stuff. One thing I know to try is jolly ranchers..the hard kind. Or just anything sour. Starburst, sour patch kids.....whatever it may be. Chances are you are having a girl (like me). Avoid eggs like the plague! Get some of those nauzine chewable tablets at Walmart and ask your doc for some Pheneran. Although they may not help too much at first, keep with the meds...they will work after a while. I'm just one of those lucky pregnant women that get to vomit the entire pregnancy. Hopefully yours will subside soon. But I state this again...no eggs of any sort...not cooked not boiled...nothing. Also, avoid fast foods and hamburgers...or anything fried at first. Stick to fruits and veggies at first.

I remember when I was pregnant. The first half of my pregnancy, I went through this stage, it didnt matter what time of the day it was, just anytime I came in contact with food or smells of food. AND of course when I tried to take my vitamin or brush my teeth. I threw up so much I lost like 16 lbs in my first trimester. There was literally NOTHING I could rely on to NOT make me sick. I was so worried about my baby because I was having a hard time with food but she turned out just fine. I just made sure to tell my doctor everything that was going on, they said it wasn't uncommon.
Calling is "Morning Sickness" is SO wrong.

Another funny story about the smells. My husband is a typical husband. He does all the belching, farting, and such...but usually he's in his office when he does it...and away from me. One day, while we were in the bedroom getting ready, he was bent over tying his shoes with one foot on the bed. My closet was right behind him and he just let one go. The smell and sound was so bad...I went running for the bathroom to upchuck everything I had for breakfast. He felt so bad after that. It's funny how any smell will trigger that reaction.
