I don't do the bar scene. I am not very out going with new people. I don't have alot of friends who can set me up with their friends. I don't have time for hobbies right now being a mommy to an 18 mo. old. I have been told I am a nice girl, but I do have an edge that makes me mysterious and I would consider my looks above average. But in the year and 3 months I have been divorced...I have only had one guy ask me out for coffee. Two others were interested, but later found out one was married and the other had a serious SO...jerks.

Any advice how to put yourself out there in the marketplace? Where do you met potential dates? Is the online dating thing worth my time

Online dating is certainly one option. I gave it a try a few times and haven't given up on it completely.

Work or volunteer experiences can also (potentially) expose you to a variety of people. If you meet them while engaged in something you care about, that's one thing right off the bat you two would have in common.

They say it's best to increase your activity level to increase the likelihood of meeting a compatible match. Pursue hobbies you enjoy and perhaps it will open other doors for you.

With all of that said...romance tends to find us when we're not looking. wink

Good luck!

I agree will all that DSM said. Online dating is definitely a feasible option. I have met many nice guys online. You don't have to jump into an actual dating site like Match.com either. Social networking sites like MySpace and FaceBook can do the trick. Those sites are also a great place to reconnect with old school chums or former coworkers too. Sometimes a love connection can be made via rekindled relationships.

Volunteering, working, temping or even simply participating in a parent group could also open the lines for love. You could take it a step further and join a gym or some other sort of activity group to get you in the face of prospective love connections. There are also a wide variety of singles groups popping up all over the place. There may be one at your local church or community group. Contact these organizations and sign up.

DSM is definitely right that love tends to find us when we are not looking for it so relax. Don't be in a hurry to find Mr. Right. If truth be told, he won't come until you are actually ready anyway and usually we are not as ready as we may think we are.

Happy Living!

That sounds very sensible, Niquenya.
