I've just killed yunalesca, and my characters are fairly weak.
I'm trying to get anima, and had only one temple to go, macalania - but it is guarded by dark shiva and my characters are no-where near hard enough to take her on.
Does anyone know a way around her?And if not, can someone tell me how and where I can start building up my characters?I've read through the stuff on it, but they all seem to involve fighting things my characters would get wrecked by, or using items I don't have (and I have niether bribe or a huge amount of gil)....levelling up normally takes forever in all the areas I know of.

Best place to train i in omega dungeon, i dont know the exact co-ords of the place but its somewhere in the sea at the center right side of the map, it should be right next to a cloud, just start smashin the x button in that area until you find it, but be carefull becuz these enemy's are REALLY strong if your as weak as you say you are

Best way to kill dark shiva is getting Yojimbo and get his overdrivebar full and get him to do Zanmato ( one hit kill )

Although i think this is the wimps way out ive defeated dark valefor, ifrit, ixion and shiva without zanmato, this is much more fun but if you really want/need to have anima now i recommend getting yojimbo, if your looking for more fun try killing her normally

She doesnt seem to have alot of HP becuz i killed her fairly fast, just make sure your strength is pretty high and youll be ok, also use haste and hastega ( haste++ ) becuz most dark aeons are really fast

Good Luck

Go to Omega Ruins and train there for a while.

If you think the fights there are to tough stay close to the save point and take it one fight at a time.

This is what I done and after a hours training i was levelling up very quickly and i came out with 980,000 gil so i paid 100,000 to my yojimbo to kill dark shiva in one hit!!!!

Post back to let me know how you do!

the quickest way to get rid of the dark aeons is by using yojimbo. get him, then pay him hopefully enough for him to do zanmato and you'll get rid of d. shiva.

as for levelling up, at that stage it's probably good foryou to lvl in Zanarkand.

I'm going to get yojimbo atm.
I have levelled a bit in zanarkand, but it is quite slow too.

I'll try yojimbo on shiva, hopefully thats the only one I'll have to use it for, since normally I'd consider that kinda thing cheating on an optional boss too.....but I'm finding ff10 a lot more difficult than the others I've played.

Thanks for the help, I'll try finding the omega ruins after I get to yojimbo.

zanmato (or whatever it is called) worked second time on her, although it did cost me all my gil to get yojimbo and pay him off....but I'm just pleased to have got anima at last, and having tried him/her/it out it seems to have been worth the bother ;-)

The omega ruins do seem to be a little faster, but not that much, although I'm not too bothered about that atm, I suppose I'll start trying to get the mirror now.

I'm extremely chuffed with anima atm, thanks for the help!

I've been to both, I seem to be getting more in the omega ruins - though only from the tougher creatures, which I'm finding more of than before.

I got the magus sisters as well last night, but I also tried that chocobo race. It looks impossible to me :-(

nothings impossible i found the choco race fairly easy it only took 5 mins get 13 balloons no bird and get to the finish line within 39 seconds and youve done it.if your struggling then do a few more dodging and that when you train a chocobo so you can dodge things easier.
