I am having problems trying to get past Dark Valefore, I try Yojimbo but he never does Zanmoto even fighting with him 20 times before he will nearly do it every time but he only gets one shot at Valefore.

Does anyone know how many HP he has as I have hit him with abotu 190,000 and he does goes on hitting Energy Ray and killing everyone.

I need to get back to Besaid as that the only temple I didn't get the destruction sphere to get Anima.

Any tips would be useful, sorry if it's been asked before.

He has around 800.000 HP. Yojimbo works well on him, but you have to pay a lot, like 40.000 Gil. Else, you can try hard with you character with plenty of Autolife, Autophoenix and Autohaste.

Am I the only one who's noticed that Yojimbo's attack are not too unlike the attack of a certain FFVIII GF I'm sure Rinoa will back me up on this,
Odin on FFVIII had too types of big attacks on monsters he'd cut them in two and on boss type creatures he'd just inflict damage!!!

no, you're not the only one to notice that, odin would come up on his horse and slice the guy to hell. but i'm 100% sure that Yojimbo doesn't just inflict damage on bosses like the dark aeons, he does zanmato as well, when ur lucky. i payed him only 366 gil, and he did zanmato to kill dark valefor for me, first try.

Yeah, I had the same problem.
Without killing Valefor I couldn't reach the last treasure I have missed before.
Without the treasure I couldn't get Anima.
Without Anima I couldn't get the 3 sisters..

So I paid 100010 gil to Yojimbo and he executed Valefor by one blast. And now I have them all. <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Maybe less money also works..

Well i think using zanmato is for wimps, i killed him with normal fights ( but i had anima ofcourse so one overdrive was enough <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> )

best way to kill this guy is to have break hp limit so he cant kill you in one hit, also use haste and auto-life incase he does kill you in one hit

as soon as you see his overdrive bar is full summon one of your weaker aeons so it will take the hit and then just keep hitting valefor until he dies

another good way to kill him is to use wakkas overdrive attack reels, thats 12 hits and if your wakka is strong ( like mine <img src="/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> ) then he shouldnt be such a big problem
