Hi all,
ok so tell us why your marrage is happy and healthy! what is the secret to it?

I have been married almost 2 years and we are happy! I think it is because I got to know my husband before we got married. I knew how he thought, and what to expect. I did not try to change him or pretend I was something that I am not. We take the good with the bad and stand by each other. We were friends and then lovers.
We are equals in this marrage and in everything we do. we also have different hobbies and friends so we have plenty to talk about.

that is my secert!

Hi FB:

We have been married almost 2 1/2 years - we have been together for 10 years.
I have yet to see a marriage as good as ours, to be honest. The only thing I can say is that for us, we know that having children would deteriorate our marriage and that is why we are not having them. I have written on this site and on the MNK site about this.
We want our devotion to go 100% to each other, not to a child. This works for us, and we are blissfully in love; we have romance and passion, and we have each other's undivided attention!

That is our secret!

We've been together for 6 years, 3 of that in marriage. We have two things going for us. One, we know each other very well and are naturally compatible and two, we talk things out and make the effort to keep things interesting. Without the effort of avoiding the routine, the first thing probably would not be enough. Its amazing how easy it is to take your spouse for granted!

Met hubby on the internet almost 10 years ago...been a couple for about 8 years...married for 5 1/2 years.

I believe we really lucked out in finding each other, because we are so similar in most ways. We fit well together, and understand how the other person thinks most of the time. And when we don't understand how the other person thinks, we talk it out immediately. We are almost always touching when we are near each other. No kids for us, so we can devote ultimate time, energy, and money on each other.

I am so lucky to have found him, because I really assumed I would end up settling for someone I met at work or someone my sisters set me up with...and that thought was depressing, because I knew I wouldn't find the man of my dreams that way. My hubby has helped me come out of my shell and I have more confidence than I had my whole life before I met him. I was also lucky to meet him when I was in college, because those are kind of...formative years in terms of thinking. He guided me in the directions I was already headed, but mainly just encouraged me that I was on the right path. (For instance, I was falling out of Christianity at the time, and he was long since out, so he encouraged me to use my head and make my own decisions, versus blindly accepting what I had been taught my whole life....etc.)

We're different enough to still have fire in our relationship, and we're both Scorpios, so it's almost a guarantee! But our fights last all of 10 minutes, and are usually over a misunderstood comment or something silly.

On occasion, we still have typical 'Everybody Loves Raymond' issues, but generally with those type of shows, we are both in agreement that either the wife is being a picky bi-atch or the husband is being an inconsiderated idiot! (Hubby is SO not the typical guy type, thank the gods!)

I think the secret is to marry your best friend.

We're happy because we are our best friends. We agree on everything -- we've never had an argument in the 10+ years we've been together. We have been married 1 1/2 years, and are truly happy every day.

Among the big factors: No kids, laid back life style, similar sense of humor, no religion, and similar hobbies (high-end photography, electronics, computers, networking). We do differ on other things (she's the sports fan, I'm not, she's an early bird, I like to sleep late -- little stuff like that). We also recognize that we both need privacy, so we have our times where we don't interact. It keeps us sane.
