I noticed the good review on Dungeon Keeper2, and your obviously a fan of the series as am I, and I was wondering how in the end it stacks up to part 1 in your opinion. IMHO DK2 is better looking and sounding, but the gameplay and ease of play still isnt nearly as good as DK1. Do you agree?

#1- Dk2 has a near worthless "query mode" that doesn�t tell you your creatures spells, or level. Instead, it tells you its wage, and blood type. Blood type? Is there some sort of "Creature E.R." where this will be a factor? Dk1 gave you all the info you needed from a query, I relied on it alot.

#2- They refer to the Horned Reaper as "horny" the entire game. This is just annoying. Not to mention he's *not* the near-mindless "terminator" he was last installment, now hes almost some sort of assistant.

#3- The battles are way too chaotic without some sort of smaller graphical representation like in part 1. Basically, in DK1 you had a small like graph showing each creature involved in a battle, from this graph one could observe,cast spells, and even pluck out of battle any creature. This is completely gone in Dk2, and basically you just have to try not to heal enemy creatures as you try and "battle-heal" your minions.

#4- I dont like the "stun" effect that happens when you drop a creature. Its bad enough now that creatures actually have morale and will run away from a fight at times (used to be you had to put locked gates up to keep your creatures from stirring it up with whole armies of the enemy)now they are already hurt and being beaten down as soon as they enter battle unless you drop them far enough away. But then they amble away half the time because they dont sense the foe and you have to re-drop them!

#5- I belive I saw this complaint in your review too, and it kinda bummed me out as well- In the original you could thoroughly obliterate your foe, then go check out his dungeon and look for secrets. Now it�s a matter of killing one central unit to obtain a piece of the "Horny Talisman"(dang i hate that referance), then its over.

Prolly saying to yourself "Um, Sam this is the new milennia, why the Hell are you playing DK2 anyway?" WEll, basically i just got a new uber pc and a Geforce4 card, and all games that used to slow down alot (some to the point of being unplayable) on my 450 are getting another go-round on this pc. Plus I just love the Dungeon Keeper concept!! Good older games like Battlezone2,Myth2, and Aoe2 never die!
