I know very little about Buddhism, but much of what I do know appeals to me. I was wondering if anyone was familiar with what, if anything, Buddhism had to say on the topic of having kids (and perhaps on rearing them, though that is something that might come out of pop psychology or self help books). I was thinking through some of what I know about Buddhism, and my interpretation seemed to lead to some odd (intentionally in quotes, by odd I mean less conventional) conclusions if you followed some of the ideas to their logical conclusion, it would seem to suggest that no one, or at least very few, should have kids at all. Obviously, this is an oversimplification and of course there are many kinds of Buddhism and many Buddhists with kids etc etc. Any wisdom on the topic is appreciated
