this sounds like a really cool family, my mom wouldn't even know how to turn on a ps2, let alone play any game on it!
and most of the time it's me who has to set up new electronic equipment in our house, not my husband. so I guess we're kinda weird as well...

I think that's pretty normal actually - the reason FFX is such a HUGE seller is that it appeals to people of all ages, shapes and sizes

In our house, we currently have me, my boyfriend, my son and his friend. My son and his friend are logged on to Asheron's Call on 2 of our PCs and playing. My boyfriend's finishing up playing Rogue Squadron 2 for the walkthrough on the Game Cube. And I'm on my laptop beside him checking on the forum We were up to 5am playing Rogue Squadron 2 I love space combat ...

Hehe, I managed to get my dad addicted to everything from baldur's gate to FF... My mom's a total anti-player (possibly a reason why they're divorced) but he's totally cool as far as gaming goes even if he has almost no time for it. I think it's cool when parents etc. don't stanbd around going "Oh I can't play a game because I'm just way too mature for it" If I'm ever "too mature" to have some good gaming fun I think I'd have to swack myself over the head with something heavy to snap out of it LOL

<~~~ posting a note to make sure and email daymar a virtual bat to hit herself over the head with, when she gets too "mature". mmmmmm, my four year old is going through the "I'm too old for that" stage... does that make people who are too "mature" for fun the same as a four year old? hehe, I asked my mother that yesterday... she just about blew a gasket!!!

How can you be too mature for anything that is fun? I never understood that, with some people saying "I can't play games any more. I'm grown up". What does growing up have to do with enjoying life? If you can't enjoy life, what's the reason you're here? To live in pain? We're back to that whole Anime attitude which frankly I don't agree with. They have some sort of bizarre misconception about what life is all about!

Any adult that "can't have fun because they're an adult" is missing the whole point of living, I think.

I agree with Lisa> if i had the choice to be a successful businessman who spends all his time worrying about work, working 7days a week on a job he hates, balding due to stress, just for money, i would rather have a job like Lisa's i'm sure it's hard work, but at least it's hard work on something you enjoy. you said something before about being up till 5am playing, much better that than being up to 5am writing up a business report

people who say they are "too mature" have just forgotten how to enjoy themselves, and will most likely derive their life enjoyment watching dull operas or such>(nothing against them but i'd rather watch the story of FFX)

Have you ever met a person who, when asked a question, if they don't know the answer, they respond with "well that's just stupid" or "I'm just not into that" or similar comments? That's what I think of people who are "too mature" I think they just don't know what to say, so they cover it up with comments like that. These are the people who depend on the general "mob mentality" that humans love so much (as in, if your friends jumped off a cliff, would you? Chances are you actually would... they've proved it! lol)
