I'm not a bastard, I'm an arsehole. There's a difference. LOL wink

But damn, how many people have done this because "it is the cool thing to do?" But she's only concerned about her body which makes me think there are other issues here.

Straight from the horse's mouth (so to speak):

"You'll love them when they're your own" is the biggest lie I've ever heard. Why do people perpetuate it? (me too (36))

Why indeed?

WOW. That's amazing it got so many Me Toos. The implications of that are kind of scary to me. This many mothers really think their own kids are as annoying as other people's?

Honestly, I've always bought into that particular "Bingo", because I feel that way about pets...my dog is precious to me, but other people's dogs...eh....some are better than others.
So to think about it that way, as just another babysitting job only neverending, makes me ever more grateful for my situation.

I don't know what's worse - that people say it, or that people believe and act on it.

This is from truedadconfessions. Sometimes a "man's best friend" is his dog !

just can't do this anymore. I never really wanted to, but they all said "It'll be different when it's your own" but it really isn't. The wife is always bitching, the kids are always crying... I just want to take the dog and get the hell out. I just can't do it. I hate it so much. me too (18)

Here's another one. I'll stop here. But the theme is common through and through.

Why does the "road not taken" always look smoother and prettier? I would trade almost anything to go back and switch paths me too (9)

This one doesn't surprise me at all. What man wants to deal with that when they get home from work at the end of the day? What woman, for that matter. The women do [censored], because they are strung out and stressed out. My Dad seemed like this a lot when we were kids. All the noise and chaos drove him nuts.

What's interesting, yet not surprising, is how many fathers are cheating....with no remorse at all. A common complaint is how they commute 1-2 hrs each way to provide and when they come home there is nothing but complaints and aggravation from their spouse. I am not condoning cheating by any means, but what comes into play has been brought up so many times on this forum: children can take away from a couple's intimacy and the nurturing of their own personal relationship.

"Every night I pretend that I have to go "number 2" just so my husband will watch our son and I can have at least 5 minutes of peace."

This is sad.

"My husband wants to have another baby...I'd rather gouge my eyes out with flaming hot pokers. WTF is he thinking."
