With all of the emphasis on girls fastpitch, I think we forget that thousands of adults play in rec leagues or on church teams. I'm so busy shuttling my DD to and from games and practice that I don't have time to play, but what about everyone else? Are there any adults out there that play softball?

I'm a tennis player but also play recreational co-ed softball. It's generally 5 men and 5 women but some of the leagues play 7 men and 3 women because it's hard to recruit women. Nobody really expects you to be good at the level I'm playing. Our goal is to have fun and get pizza after. It generally comes down to pitching and which team has a pitcher who can get it over the plate consistently.

I play in a women's league in the spring. I played co-ed ball one year, but didn't care for it because some of the younger guys are overly aggressive. Once one of them took out my friend who was catching and almost broke her ankle. I think at my age (40 something) I play competitively, but I would rather not break any bones LOL.

I do love playing though, and have made some great friends through softball. We have women in our league that are in their 50's and a couple who are 60. I know you are laughing, but they are some tough ladies!

I am 27 and have played softball as long as I can remember. I live in Omaha and play co-ed softball every spring summer and fall. I am very competitive so I don't mind "showing" up the boys/men who think that girls are no good!!! I have met the majority of my great friends through slow pitch softball.
