BellaOnline Forums Family Boy Scouts 100 years of Scouting

It's hard to believe that Scouting is 100 years young this year! My family has a long history in the Scouting movement - my Grandfather was one of Australia's first Scouts and was a Kings Scout - my Brother was a Queen's Scout and I was a Queen's Guide myself.

Here in Brisbane (Australia) we recently had a huge parade to celebrate, with Scouts coming from all over the state to march. I had some wonderfun reunions with boys who (20 years ago now!) were my Cub Scouts (and it's quite amusing to be called "Bunyip" (my unofficial Scout name) by hulking 30 year olds!

So - how is your group celebrating this milestone?

There are special functions going on at Philmont and the BSA National Museum is putting on several programs including one they just wrapped up which was a week long, including VIP invitations to all Eagle Scouts for a special presentation, reception and commemorative gifts.
