I think that he needs to get real. If he thinks that merely singing (or even listening to) a religiously based Christmas song is going to convert his kids, well -- he is wrong. It's the same attitude of the fundies who don't want to expose their children (or themselves, it seems like) to any other religion (or non-believers), because they are afraid their kids might get contaminated. (My opinion -- if their belief is that weak, maybe they need to think things through.) I grew up in an agnostic family, sang Christmas carols - and enjoyed it - but never really gave it any religious/supernatural thought. They were just songs, helped me get in the holiday spirit, along with baking cookies. (We celebrate Christmas, but in a secular manner.)
