Hey guys! Just curious ... what is that clear film on the top of some of my tanks? My female betta has it quite frequently (despite frequent water changes) and so does one of my males. It doesn't seem to bother them, but it sure as heck bothers me. Hope it's not hurtin' my babies!

Thanks for the response, he has a little 5 gallon that the betta is in, I think I will help him switch around his tanks a little. I also may bring him my 3 1/2 gallon to borrow for a little while to act as the "time out tank" lol

Oh yeah, and I tried feeding Rusty the flakes just now and he took them in his mouth and then spit them back out. He then pointed up like he was looking at me saying "yo! what is up with this [censored] you are feeding me? Where's the good stuff" He has such an attitude when he doen't get his way, he'll swim around like he is huffing and puffing and he won't come near me. He is still sulking aboutt he loss of his plants I think, but he is getting new ones this weekend, as well as a new cave, a bigger one. Does anyone else's fish give them attitudes?

Hi Bettagirl, our first betta did that with his food. He 'ate' the flakes but then spit them right out. The advice I was given was to keep giving it to him. I have, however switched to pellets for our new guy who seems to have no problem eating anything lol.

Such attitudes these fish have....sheesh! Mine's learned when feeding time is, and he'll come to the front of the tank and just stare at me until I feed him. And if I don't look at him, he'll start swimming back and forth to get my attention. What a brat, lol!
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
