Hello! I have six giant danios in a 55-gallon tank, along with one 6-7" algae eater. The danios have this weird fuzzy-looking ball under their mouths. I have tried a couple of remedies from PetSmart, but nothing has worked. The fungus doesn't seem to be affecting them too much, as they have had this for months and don't seem to be getting worse. However, I would like it to go away. Does anyone have any suggestions that have worked for you?

Thanks!!

Cute puppy! Is he dressed up as Yoda?

eek All 6 of them have it? What remedies did you use? How many months have they had it? How old are they? Do you have any other fish in there and what kind of plant life? What is your water change process, schedule and type of filtration set-up?
It could be ick, or a bacterial infection after a bump or jumping and hitting the mouth, or it could be a fungus - how are your ph levels? (You may need something from the petstore to up the pH.) How is your filter? Has there been any kind of stress on your fish lately? If so, you could try some aquarium salt to ease their stress. Maybe there is more to the story - what else can you tell us about your Danios' environment that may have caused this situation? How long have you had them?
