I've recently bought a notebook and, aside from having Vista and not being compatible with anything, I've found that my Wacom Tablet and scanner won't even fit. Their boy-girl parts don't connect, basically.
Now usually this means a USB adapter, but I have noooo idea how to find out what size/type to get! Any help would be so appreciated.
I don't really have much info as far as my scanner/tablet go, but as for my computer, it's an Acer Aspire 5100.
Again, thank you much.

Hi, Is it possible to get a little more detail on the "boy-girl" parts of the scanner/tablet? Are they male or female? How large are they? Here are some sites with pictures to help identify the connectors: Cable Connectors List One Cable Connectors List Two Once we know the connector then we can work on finding the adapter that you need. Also, if you haven't already, you might want to check to make sure the Wacom Tablet and the scanner will work with Vista - might require new drivers.

I was worried about that, but this is a refurbished computer that "can't run XP because it will mess up if you ever try to do updates".
Yeah... not quite buying that, and not a fan of Vista at all, but oh well. Poor college student and all that.
Anyway, thanks for the links, they really are a great help. As for the size, I really don't know. I do know though, that it just barely doesn't fit, and is a USB Type A Female.
It looks like the two (notebook and tablet) are compatable, as far as being the same time, but the tablet's cord is just big enough that I don't want to plug it in- afraid of jamming or damaging something, it's just that tight enough of a fit.

Yikes! I had jaw surgery a few days ago so please excuse the ig'nance in that post.
Right. In cognisant English: The Tablet is a USB Type A Female, but unfortunately I don't know the size. It is just big enough though, to make me uncomfortable plugging it into the computer because I'm afraid of jamming it by forcing it in.
That's what's so frustrating, I can fit the tip in but not the rest.

For the Acer Aspire 5100 the USB port is 4 pin USB Type A port.
I would go to this site and look at their cables - they show both ends and list the type of connections -BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. If you don't know how to do UBB code just post here for help - we will help out!
