Hi there,
I was just wondering if any of you guys know whether there are or will be any "remakes" of the old FF games?? I just got my FF anthology with FF 4 + 5 remade to work on Playstation, which got me to thinking how nice it would be to have all the "old hits" from Nintendo/SNES for the PS... Alos it got me to go dig under the mounds of dust in the back storage room of my appartment to look for my old NES/SNES + the games, but it seems like a whole batch of my old games aren't back there for some reason eek Including the original FF and FF6 (if I'm not totally messed up in the head that one was still for SNES). FF2 and 3 are there, 4 and 5 comprise the anthology... still I really enjoy replaying the old games periodically (or I did before my last move after which I didn't even find the time to set up ye olde Nintendo stuff, much less play an older game).
Anyway, if anyone knows if an anthology of the earlier games (other than 4&5) is available, do let me know! Thanks <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Hmmm, well it sounds like the Anthology actually has both PS and SNES games on it, because one was a port of the other. Amazon says:

Showcasing two installments of SquareSoft's wildly popular role-playing game (RPG) series, Final Fantasy Anthology features the U.S. debut of Final Fantasy V, and reintroduces one of the best RPGs of all time, Final Fantasy VI, originally released as Final Fantasy III on the Super Nintendo gaming system.
Both games are straight Super Nintendo conversions, so their 2-D graphics and 16-bit sounds are admittedly subpar by PlayStation standards. However, SquareSoft has added brand-new, beautifully animated movies for both titles, and has given Final Fantasy VI the star treatment it deserves by adding a bonus mode where gamers can access loads of supplementary material, such as artwork and data files on the game's monsters and items. As an extra bonus for hardcore fans, an audio CD featuring music from both games is included, making this quite the collector's package.
