I've just finished another string project which you can find here - Garden Bunting. I've used this bunting to tie around some garden pots and made a long strip to hang around a gazebo. I've enjoyed these projects as they are quick and easy to do - and of course string is so cheap!

This follows on from the crocheted string garden light hanger which I published a few weeks ago.

Time (dare I say it!) to think about back-to-school projects...

Wouldn't it be better to use some 2mm poloycord to make those buntings for pots. The polycord is easier to keep clean and has a much longer life span when used in a very wet area. I have used the bigger polycords for rugs, the 4mm and 6mm ones.

I used the polycord with a star ripple pattern and got a couple of lovely, well three of them, rugs for myself, and one for each of my daughters. My rug has been used for several years now and it is on the front porch in all kinds of weather, including extreme heat and snow.

Well, just a thought in case you want to try something like that. I like the design for this bunting.

Thankyou for the suggestion. I am not familiar with polycord, it sounds just the ticket for outdoor items, what is it used for? I live in rural Spain, so limited to what I can get in the market which is part of the reason I have to look for different things to crochet with! I managed to get some balls of rafia this morning, which I was thinking about using for placemats.

I love the sound of the rugs. Do you have a picture you could post?
