My favorite book is Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Crochet. The illustrations are shown for both left- and right-handed crocheters. Extremely helpful for me 'cause I'm left-handed and have struggled with some stitches for years.
I don't have a favorite yet. Most of the books I've seen have a few patterns I like and quite a few that I don't. Maybe I'm just picky, but I don't see the point of keeping around patterns that are plain enough I could figure them out myself! I usually just get books from the library and copy the patterns I like.
I think my favorite crochet book is the Coat's Learn How Crochet book. It covers all the basics and has a few patterns choosen to demonstrate techniques that work well as a basis for your own designing. Plus it's small and can be tucked in your bag as a reference.
My recent favorite is "The Essential Book of Crochet Techniques" by Nancie M Wiseman. Tho a slim book, there are lots of great ideas and techniques that I haven't seen in other books. Check it out!
I would take my binders of patterns I have gotten off the internet.
lol me too...there are still a few in there that I haven't attempted yet but want to. Whenever I find one I think I might like I print it out and store it in my binder for future reference
