Do you have a favorite Crochet Book? Or if it is too difficult to choose just one favorite, which three would you take to a desert island and why!!!!

I wouldn't take any books to a desert island - would take up too much room and take away room for yarn!

Aha - I didn't think of that!! And you would need that yarn to crochet shelters and other vital equipment!

My favorite book is Donna Kooler's Encyclopedia of Crochet. The illustrations are shown for both left- and right-handed crocheters. Extremely helpful for me 'cause I'm left-handed and have struggled with some stitches for years.

I don't have a favorite yet. Most of the books I've seen have a few patterns I like and quite a few that I don't. Maybe I'm just picky, but I don't see the point of keeping around patterns that are plain enough I could figure them out myself! I usually just get books from the library and copy the patterns I like.

I think my favorite crochet book is the Coat's Learn How Crochet book. It covers all the basics and has a few patterns choosen to demonstrate techniques that work well as a basis for your own designing. Plus it's small and can be tucked in your bag as a reference.

I would take my binders of patterns I have gotten off the internet.

My recent favorite is "The Essential Book of Crochet Techniques" by Nancie M Wiseman. Tho a slim book, there are lots of great ideas and techniques that I haven't seen in other books. Check it out!

lol me too...there are still a few in there that I haven't attempted yet but want to. Whenever I find one I think I might like I print it out and store it in my binder for future reference
