Hi there! Yes, it's me again. smile

I have another fun little game that I would love for you to participate in. It's called getting to know you - but really what it is, is kind of a survey! A brief survey, all about you! I think it's a nice way to learn a little about who's visiting here! smile What you'll do, is copy what you see below, and paste it into the 'quick reply' box at the bottom of your screen. Answer the questions by highlighting my answers and typing yours over them. Then post! smile I sure hope that you'll join in and share with me a little bit about yourselves! smile

What's your first name?: Valerie
Would you like to share your age?: 26
What's your location?: Northeast Ohio
How long have you been quilting?: I've been quilting for about 3 years or so, but sewing for as long as I can remember.
What's your favorite quilt block?: Log Cabin and Ohio Star (I have two favorites!)
Who taught you to quilt?: I am self taught! My Mother taught me to sew, and I learned to quilt through books, online friends and groups, and LOTS of trial and error!
What have you gained from quilting?: Patience, an area I was lacking in before I began quilting. I have also gained numerous quilting friends from online groups, and they have been as wonderful, some even more so, than people I've met off-line! smile
Are you a hand quilter or machine quilter?: Both! I would much rather machine piece than piece by hand, but it seems to work with some blocks better to piece by hand. Similarly with quilting, I really enjoy hand quilting as much as machine quilting, but it all really depends on the finished look I want for my quilt - well, and how long I have to quilt it!
Anything else you'd like to share?: Well, I really am having a good time sharing things quilty with all of you. I hope that you gain if nothing else, at the very least, a little inspiration, to go out and make something beautiful of your own! I think there is just nothing else like quilting, it is a skill and love that should be available to all who'd like to know it! smile

My first name is Myrna.
My age is +60.
I live in British Columbia, Canada
I have been quilting since 1999.
I joined a small group of ladies who hired someone to teach us a new technique each month for two years. From then on, we have been learning things on our own.
I have been a machine quilter but this past year decided I wanted to hand quilt. Now I am in love with hand quilting. However, I seem to produce way too many quilts to hand quilt so will have to machine quilt some to keep up with them.
Quilting was my sanity when I moved here, leaving work, family, and friends behind. I was put on disability and in 6 weeks we sold our home in a city and I was here in a rural area, living in a travel trailer while having our house built. I have met many many friends over the past eight years and have found the niche I have always been looking for.

What's your first name?: Beth
Would you like to share your age?: 54
What's your location?: Northeast Ohio
How long have you been quilting?: About 15 years, on and off. For the last 10 years, it's been my passion. I sewed clothing for myself and my daughters for many years, as well.
What's your favorite quilt block?: I love them all, but Ohio Stars do seem to turn up in my work quite often.
Who taught you to quilt?: I have been largely self-taught, although my mother and long-time friend from college are also quilters and I learn new techniques from them all the time.
What have you gained from quilting?: Patience and confidence in my own creativity.
Are you a hand quilter or machine quilter?: I machine quilt and piece.
Anything else you'd like to share?: I'm making a concerted effort right now to finish up the stack of UFOs on my shelves. Some of them are from a time when my piecing/quilting skills were not so great - I'm finishing them anyway. It fees good to see how far those skills have come.

Myrna - I can relate in that, I stay home right now, so quilting is what keeps me going when I'm not taking care of the family or house. I spend a lot of time at home, so this is what keeps me from going bonkers when I can't get out of the house! smile It's so nice to meet you! smile

Beth - it's so nice to meet you as well! I have oodles of projects around that I need to finish up too. Sometimes I just don't finish things because I get sick of them part way through making them! smile Can't wait to see some of your projects! smile
