I think it's the guy in the forest by the cyrstal thing. The little kid, you know what I mean? I can't rightly remember and I'll have to go look it up in my walkthrough... but see if it's that first. <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

yeah i know what u mean but Lisa or some1 said to me the guy are near the save point in the calm lands and if hes not... race with the chocobo trainer and he will be near the savepoint...but i dont know near what savepoint i have race with the chocobo trainer and there is a guy near the save point and he says:hey i saw it i saw the race! you were amazing! i cant believe u won! but u were lucky! imean,sometimes she`s hot and some times she�s not.

hm, strange... After I beat the race, I talked to the poeple there and then I went to the north of the northwesternmost area and down a path that was guarded before + I found Caladabog there, I think... Don't recall getting anything useful form any guy after the race...?

I think you're confusing a few things here.

First, to get the mirror, you have to deal with the family in the Macalania Woods. That's the father and mother and son near the savepoint. That's to get the mirror, which helps you build all of the Ultimate Weapons.

But to get Tidus' weapon, you have to do the chocobo race in the calm lands. When you win the race, you then want to go northwest to get to where it is. That has nothing to do with a savepoint.
