hi, i managed not to get the destruction sphere puzzles in besaid and djose temples done before i got blocked from the temples. Now the walkthroughs i have either say that i SHOULD be allowed back into the temples after i was at highbridge and talked to Mika OR that i SHOULD be able to after defeating Seymour for the (finally) last time... I've done both of these and there are still monks keeping me out of Besaid etc. with their nice little dark aeons. Have I missed doing something or will I HAVE to fight the dark aeons to get at 1) Tidus' sigil or crest or whatever in Zanarkand and 2) the temple stuff I still need to get Anima?? I really hope not, and if I do: any tips on wiping out dark Aeons? thx in advance

oh BTW, is it possible that I had the rod of wisdom from besaid temple and sold it? because i recall having one, and i don't have one now... Is there a way to "create" a new Rod of Wisdom which Baaj temple will accept?

You dont have to fight them.. well i dont think.. i havent finished the game.. but i can just go straight to Sin.. but you should fight them.. yes it is like impossible.. but get your Aeons 255 Strenght with all Celestial Weapons and you do like 500,000 Damage each hit..

When you beat one you get an Armour for one character which gives HP Bust <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> rocks.

I have only beaten Dark Valefor.. but if you beat Omega Weapon you get a HP Bust Ring for Yuna <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

To get back into Besaid at any point, you must beat Dark Valefor. To get back into macalania temple, you MUST beat Shiva. Those are the only two that you HAVE to beat at any point.

In the temples, its not the item you get that works in Baaj temple, its the fact that you've opened the chest. So creating new weapons doesn't work. Nor do items from elsewhere.

If you're desperate to beat the Dark Valefor, give Yuna's weapon first strike (80 chocobo wings) and use Yojimbo. Pay him all you got if he has a full overdrive and pay him whatever you are willing to, hoping tat he uses Zanmato. But that takes the fun out of it...

hm, thanks... as for taking the fun out of it: the twenty-second time I died fighting the same dark aeon took the fun out of things too - especially with getting into Sin and beating Seymour having been relatively easy by comparison... I will try it with Yuna having first strike + with Mr.Greedy, hope it works. I take it that I can get into Djose temple without cumbersome fighting, since it was stated that only Macalania and Besaid have dark aeon guards? And Zanarkand, of course. I have all the celestial weapons except Tidus' because I can't get past dark bahamut *sigh*. Oh well, when I play it over I'll know to get all the stuff beforehand so I at least have the weapons before fighting nasties like the dark aeons or those creatures in the omega ruins ;-)
