I love European chocolate companies ... you know, those yummy independently owned chocolate shops that are found throughout Europe. I was wondering if you know of any who do mail order!

Hi !
My very favourite is a place called "Histoire de Chocolat" in France: They do fantastic chocolates, Dark , Milk, Pralines and even white chocolates. Lots of different flavours and fillings though my favourites are the plain ones made from different cocoa beans from different parts of the world. I also love the unusual one with tea and even the one with algae ! I am not sure whether their website is in English as well as French.

I found a wonderful online site (via Gourmet magazine) and the name is so approprate for here: CocoaBella chocolates (no affiliation with us, but thought that it was funny!)

With shipping it is a bit pricey, but you can make your own boxes, and they have selections from US, Belgium, France, Italy, Ecuador, and Switzerland. The pralineur van Coillie Passie fruit (passion fruit) and the bananas foster were 2 really original ones that were fantastic.

I've found a great chocolatier here in Santa Cruz who mails a good number of his gourmet chocolates. It's still a family run business, so it has a bit of old-world charm and isn't over commercialized (you really MUST go into the store to get the full effect)!
