Great article, very informative. Thanks Amelia!

Lavendar has always been my favorite flowering herb and I do use it in many dishes in my kitchen and in my spellwork. Its wonderful on salads and in sauces/marinades especially for pork and chicken.

I relate very well to Basil, but not to lavendar or rosemary for some reason. Any ideas on that?

Both lavender and Rosemary have fruity smell. Basil is woody.

If you grow mint in quantity you can make money with that!
here is an idea with mint-

anytime you feel bad smell in your home, evaporate few drops of mint oil.

I was shopping for any leftover plants yesterday and found a bonanza of lavender plants. They still wanted 1.99 each for a 2 inch pot so I am going to wait until friday to see if they come down. I cant get it to overwinter here, no matter what I try. I think it is the combo of my altitude and the fact that its Montana to begin with. Pretty harsh winters here. Even mulching doesnt help.

I love the scent of Lavender and Rosemary more than anything(well except for patchouli)

Basil makes me think of pesto and hot sunny days.

Down here the growing season is at its peak. The farmer's markets are bursting with fresh tomatoes, cantaloupes, corn, eggplant...you name it.

I've got a small container garden of outside my front door filled with Basil,Rosemary,Parsley,Thyme and Oregano that I use all the time in cooking and also because they smell so yummy. but they are growing so quickly I am going to have to clip some and hang them to dry, just have to find a place.

And Thyme for some reason makes me think of the beach...
