I think Sweetie is about 3 years old. She belonged to a lady who I met over 20 years ago when she was looking for a budgie and I was breeding and handfeeding them at that time. She got one of my babies and asked me over a couple of times every year to trim his nails and clip his wings enough to just slow him down a bit. That bird died about 3-4 years ago and I helped her find another one. She continued to ask me to look after the nails and wings, so I've known this Sweetie (she named all her budgies Sweetie) for 3-4 years. This lady is 95 years old and up until 2 weeks ago she lived on her own in her own home, but now she is in the hospital. She won't be leaving the hospital until a room can be found for her in a nursing home.
So - Sweetie is now mine.
