Today is a sad one in our house. The beautiful mother of two of our dogs died from cancer.
But I am so grateful to this sweet lady (dog) because she gave us two wonderful companions. They inherited her beautiful nature, and as I mentioned once before, they, and our third little one, saved this sick body in 2002.
I hope you won't mind if I tell you how that happened, but I do so now in tribute to Susie.
For some time the body had been ailing and no tests revealed the cause of the trouble. Then, one day, Patience collapsed on the dining room floor. The body could not move and breathing was difficult because she fell face down into the carpet.
Those wonderful dogs ran to her and began to push and roll her until she was on her side. Licking her face, they 'brought her around' and then continued to push her until she was able to crawl to the telephone. She was able to dial our emergency number and help came.
She was rushed to hospital where she fought for life. Doctors said later, that if it had not been for the dogs, she would have died. (the cause was Idiopathic Auto Immune Haemalytic Anaemia)
So today I am grateful to those dear dogs, and to Susie, the mother of two of them, and to the lady who bred them and chose us to be their owners.
Please send loving thoughts to that lady today, because she is in deep grief at the sudden death of her beloved pet.
With deep gratitude,
Ann, Patience, Percy and all of us.
